EPC Webinar: Why the UN Sustainable Development Goals matter more than ever

On April 20, 2021, the Belgium-based think tank European Policy Centre (EPC) hosted an engaging discussion on the increased relevance of the UN SDGs in the context of the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

EPC’s senior advisor Jacki Davis moderated the discussion between Her Majesty the Queen of the Belgians, Commissioner Jutta Urpilainen from the European Commission, and the Director of SDSN Paris, Guillaume Lafortune.

The discussion focused on the recovery from the pandemic, mitigating the widening inequalities between high- and low-income countries, and strengthening countries’ preparedness for future shocks and challenges. The panel also reiterated the necessity for global partnerships and cooperation for implementing the Agenda 2030.
