SUMMARY:Net Zero: Making the Way Towards a Carbon Neutral Europe
DESCRIPTION:As the European Union elections approach\, the SDSN is committed to engaging and mobilizing young Europeans to vote. In this spirit\, and under the leadership of prof. Angelo Riccaboni\, chair of SDSN Med\, several SDSN Europe-based networks are joining forces to spotlight the remarkable strides made by the EU and its Member States in advancing sustainable development over the recent decades. The SDSN\, in partnership with SDSN Europe\, SDSN Mediterranean\, SDSN Portugal\, and SDSN Germany will host three webinars throughout April and May 2024. \nThe EU aims to be climate-neutral by 2050 – an economy with net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. This objective is at the heart of the European Green Deal and is a legally binding target thanks to the European Climate Law. This webinar invites the participants\, especially young people\, to “visit” some initiatives aiming to contribute to this objective and\, in this way\, to keep Europe as one of the better places to live. The achievements aim to inspire the European Youth to be active in acting for a carbon-neutral Europe\, therefore contributing to saving the Planet. \nHosted by SDSN Portugal\, the webinar will feature a keynote speaker and a panel presenting inspiring examples of policies\, projects\, and initiatives that have had a positive impact on our lives and that would not have been there if it were not for the EU. By spotlighting tangible cases and successes\, we seek to highlight the significance of active participation in European elections\, illustrating how each vote contributes to shaping a resilient and enduring European Union. \n\nRegister Here
